RSCC XI conducts Fourth Quarter
Meeting, approves four resolutions

The Regional Statistical
Coordination Committee (RSCC) XI held its fourth quarter meeting for this
year on December 16, 2008
at the newly inaugurated office of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)
XI in Davao City. The following were the agenda of the meeting: (1)
Reorganization of RSCC/Expansion of Membership; (2) Small Area Estimates on
Municipal Poverty Statistics ; (3) Generation of Statistics for Highly
Urbanized Cities; (4) Updated MDG Watch; (5)
2006 Poverty Maps of Digos City; and (6) Proposed 2009 RSCC XI Policy
Agenda. The last meeting of the year was presided by the new NEDA XI
director and RSCC XI chair, Ms. Maria Lourdes D. Lim.
During this meeting, the RSCC XI passed four resolutions. These are
the following: (1)
Recommending to the RDC XI the
expansion of RSCC XI composition to include BSP XI, DepEd XI, DOH XI, DOT
XI, DTI XI, POPCOM XI, SEC XI, and one private sector representative from
the ICT sector; (2) Recommending to the Regional Development Council XI to
request the National Statistical Coordination Board to disaggregate Poverty
Statistics of Davao City from Davao del Sur; (3)
Creating a technical
working group on local level statistics to address the disaggregation of
statistics at the lower level; and (4)
Approving
the 2005 Digos City Poverty Maps;
