The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), through its Regional Divisions (RDs), is committed to disseminate relevant information generated by the Philippine Statistical System to address the demand for more and diversified statistics for development planning at the regional and local level. As part of this commitment, the NSCB continues to update and publish local level data. The Regional Social and Economic Trends (RSET) for the Northern Mindanao Region presents comprehensive data on the various sectors of the region and its component provinces, cities, and municipalities.

The RSET features annual time series data that are useful for planning and decision-making and for setting policies towards effective governance and improved service delivery at the local level. It also contains data that are disaggregated in different dimensions and includes a glossary of terms of official concepts and definitions for statistical purposes as approved by the NSCB Executive Board.

The 2011 edition provides updates and includes chapter highlights to better guide our data users in their analysis of regional trends. This edition also includes updates from the 2009 Family Income and Expenditure Survey by the National Statistics Office. Moreover, additional statistics are provided for Economic Accounts, Vital Health and Nutrition and Money and Banking. Furthermore, the updated official poverty statistics for the years 2003, 2006 and 2009 already reflects the latest revision to the method of estimating the official poverty statistics. As an added feature, the 2011 edition also includes the latest updates to the regional Millenium Development Goals indicators to assess the region’s rate of progress with regards to the MDGs.

The publication (CD-ROM version) is now available at the National Statistical Information Center (NSIC) library, which is open to the public for free from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays.
