The “Countryside in Figures: Lanao del Norte” is a product of the joint effort of the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), through the Regional Division 10, and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte. Moreover, it is a substantiation of commitment of the National Statistical Coordination Board, through its regional divisions, to provide relevant and more disaggregated statistics/information at the local levels.

This publication contains relevant statistics/indicators comparing the performance of the 22 municipalities and 1 city of the province of Lanao del Norte. It is a useful statistical tool for local planners, investors and other groups interested in Lanao del Norte for investment and development. Through the CIF, the LGUs, the national government and other key stakeholders would be able to determine the appropriate intervention programs that should be introduced in the province and its municipalities to improve the quality of life of our kababayan in Lanao del Norte. The publication also features sectoral highlights to guide data users in their analysis.

This first edition for Lanao del Norte contains social, economic and governance indicators, some of which have municipality disaggregation. Ranking of indicators with municipality disaggregation was done to allow comparable assessment of performance of the various municipalities and the lone city in the province.

The NSCB acknowledges the invaluable support of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through the Provincial Planning and Development Office, in coordinating data collection at the provincial and municipal/city levels. We are likewise grateful to the various data-producing agencies at the regional and local levels for providing the inputs to this publication.

Through the “Countryside in Figures: Lanao del Norte”, we hope we can contribute to the countryside development by providing the vital statistics/information needed in effecting it.

The CIF: Lanao del Norte is the provincial version of the “The Philippines Countryside in Figures”, an annual publication of the NSCB Central Office which presents the latest available general information and statistical indicators on governance, family income and expenditures, labor and employment, etc. of the 79 provinces and selected cities in the country.

The CIF: Lanao del Norte publication (CD-ROM version) is now available at the National Statistical Information Center (NSIC) library, which is open to the public for free from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays. The NSIC is a one-stop shop of statistical information and services managed by the NSCB. The Northern Mindanao branch is currently located at Door 8 Mortola Building, J. R. Borja Street, Cagayan de Oro City.
