RSCC ISSUES FOUR RESOLUTIONS IN THIRD MEETING

 

The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) issued four resolutions during its third regular meeting on November 8, 2006.  The resolutions issued pertain to the celebration of the National Statistics Month (NSM) in the region and on the evaluation report on the pilot-testing of the generation of data from the business licensing system in Ilocos Norte. The resolutions issued were:  1) Resolution No. 16, “Approving the Revised Guidelines for the Search for the Best NSM Province and Activity”; 2) Resolution No. 17, “Enjoining the Province of Ilocos Norte to Institutionalize the Generation of Data from the Business Licensing System”; 3) Resolution No. 18, “Enjoining the Provinces of Pangasinan, La Union and Ilocos Sur to Replicate the Generation of Data from the Business Licensing System”; and 4) Resolution No. 19,  “Approving the Creation of a Technical Working Group to Study the Indicators Used in the Existing Business Licensing Forms of LGUs.”

 

The RSCC earlier issued  three and 12 resolutions during its 1st  and 2nd regular meetings, respectively. 

 

The RSCC 3rd regular meeting  was conducted at the NEDA Regional Office 1 in San Fernando City, La Union. It was sponsored by the Research and Statistics Assistance Center (RSAC) of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP). 

 

The last regular meeting of the RSCC in 2006 is scheduled on December 13, 2006.  The main agenda of the meeting are the presentations/discussions on the highlights of the NSM celebration, 3rd quarter 2006 Regional Economic Situationer,  and results of the survey on hunger incidence  in the  Philippines.  The highlights of the meeting is the awarding of the winners of the 2006 Search for Best NSM Province and Activity.  The meeting will be held at the NEDA Regional Office 1 in San Fernando City, La Union with the National Statistics Office and Bureau of Agricultural Statistics as meeting sponsors
