Region I has 111 Hospitals

As of 1996, the number of hospitals in Region I was 111. Of these 111, 35 were government owned and the remaining 76 were private hospitals. The total bed capacity of these combined hospitals was 3,588. The government hospitals had 1,835 bed capacity and the private hospitals had 1,753. Pangasinan had the most number of hospitals in the region. It was ranked fifth among the provinces in the country with the most number of hospitals.

In the same year, some 147 rural health units and 819 barangay health stations in Region I were counted.
