RSCC I Resolution No. 11, s.2011

APPROVING THE 2011-2016 REGIONAL STATISTICAL RESEARCH AGENDA OF REGION I

 

WHEREAS, in recognition of the importance of researches in the formulation of strategies and policies to address development concerns, the Regional Development Committee (RDC) Executive Committee (ExCom) issued Resolution No. 40, s. 2011, “Approving the Guidelines on the Formulation of the 2011-2016 Regional Research Agenda (RRA) for Region I” based on the recommendation of the Regional Research Committee (RRC);

WHEREAS, the formulation of the 2011-2016 RRA for Region 1 will support the 2011-2016 Regional Development Plan (RDP) of the region to address policy gaps, issues and concerns;

WHEREAS, the 2011-2016 RRA guidelines identified the RSCC as the responsible entity for the formulation of prioritized research agenda on statistical concerns;

WHEREAS, the RRC will undertake the global prioritization of the statistical research areas, along with other sectoral/special concerns’ research areas, and come up with the Regional Research Agenda of Region I for CY 2011-2016;

          WHEREAS, the RSCC conducted a special meeting on October 11, 2011 for the formulation of the statistical research agenda of the region following the guidelines provided by the RDC;

         WHEREAS, the research areas on statistics were identified based on the problems and issues included in the 2011-2017 Regional Statistical Development Plan of Region I and these were prioritized based on the criteria indicated in the 2011-2016 RRA guidelines, namely: a) addresses the identified issues/concerns and is highly supportive of planning and policy formulation activities in the region (35%); 2) the region has institutional capability to implement the research project (25%); 3) will benefit many and varied users, particularly planners, policy-makers, administrators and researchers (20%); and 4) has an implementation period of at most two years (20%);

           NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to approve the 2011-2016 Regional Statistical Research Agenda of Region I as hereto attached (Annex-RSCC Res. No. 11, s.2011);
