NSCB Releases Pangasinan Countryside in Figures: 2009 Edition
In line with its commitment to provide relevant and more disaggregated statistics for strategic development at the local level, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) releases the Second Edition of The Countryside in Figures (CIF): Pangasinan.
The CIF: Pangasinan aims to provide relevant and timely information about the province and to serve the need for more comprehensive statistics useful in planning, decision-making and policy setting towards effective governance and public service at the local level.
The publication contains provincial and municipal disaggregation of statistics from various sectors, such as general information, governance, agriculture, education, energy, finance, health, income and prices, infrastructure, public order, tourism, and transportation and communication. It also provides indicators comparing the four cities and 44 municipalities of the province based on their socio-economic performance.
The second edition presents data from CY 2004 – 2009 as a continuation of the maiden issue released in 2004. It also includes new indicators not found in the first edition such as the number of registered voters for both national and barangay elections, telegraphic services and stations, contraceptive prevalence rates and others.
The NSCB acknowledges the assistance of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, thru its Provincial Planning and Development Office, in coordinating data collection at the provincial and municipal/city levels and the support of the various data producing agencies at the regional and local levels by providing the data inputs to this publication.
