RSCC I  APPROVES 11 RESOLUTIONS IN 2011
The Regional Statistical Coordination Committee (RSCC) I,  the highest policy making and coordinating body on statistical matters in the region, approved 11 resolutions in 2011.  The resolutions approved were:
1.       Approving the Policy Agenda of RSCC Region I for CY 2011;
2.       Requesting the Department of Tourism (DOT) to Include Data on Tourist’s Expenditures in the Report Formsz of Their New Tourism Data Generation System;
3.       Requesting the Local Government Units (LGUs) to Require Accommodation Establishments (AEs) to Submit Their Tourism Statistical Reports as Requirement for the Application of Their Business Permits;
4.       Enjoining the Local Government Units to Support the New Tourism Data Generation System of the Department of Tourism;
5.       Requesting the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to Generate Regional and Provincial Data on OFW Remittances by Requiring Banks to Submit Reports by Bank Branches;
6.       Requesting the National Statistics Office (NSO) to Generate Regional and Provincial Data on OFW Remittances;
7.       Enjoining the Regional Line Agencies (RLAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), Academic Institutions and the Private Sector to Support the National Statistics Month (NSM) Celebration;
8.       Approving the 2011-2017 Regional Statistical Development Program (RSDP) of Region I;
9.       Approving the Policy Agenda of RSCC Region I for CY 2012;
10.   Enjoining Statisticians, Data Analysts and Researchers of Regional Line Agencies (RLAs) and Academic Institutions to Participate in the Seminar on the Use of Advanced Statistical Tools in Handling Problematic Data;
11.   Approving the 2011-2016 Regional Statistical Research Agenda for Region I.

The resolutions were approved during the four regular meeting of the RSCC which were conducted on the following dates:  1st Regular Meeting on March 29, 2011, 2nd Regular Meeting on June 24, 2011, 3rd Regular Meeting on September 5, 2011, and 4th Regular Meeting on November 23, 2011.  The meetings were held at the conference room of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office I. NEDA sponsored the 1st regular meeting while the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Regional Division I sponsored the 2nd and 4th RSCC regular meetings, and the Provincial Planning & Development Office of La Union sponsored the 3rd RSCC regular meeting.  The RSCC also conducted a special meeting on October 11, 2011 at NEDA Regional Office I for the formulation of the region’s statistical research agenda.  It was sponsored by NEDA. 
Among the major activities conducted by the RSCC Region I for 2011 were: (1) 2011-2017 Philippines Statistical Development Program (PSDP) Workshop in collaboration with the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), (2) 2011 National Statistics Month, and (3) 1st Regional Statistics Congress in Region I.
The RSCC is chaired by NEDA Regional Director Leonardo N. Quitos Jr., and co-chaired by NSO OIC Regional Director Urbana Romano.  The NSCB Regional Division I serves as the RSCC secretariat.
