ENDORSING THE ADOPTION OF THE STATISTICAL ACTIVITIES, PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS UNDER
THE SUB-NATIONAL STATISTICAL SYSTEM SECTION OF THE APPROVED PHILIPPINE
STATISTICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PSDP) 2005-2010
TO CONCERNED OFFICES 

WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP), a mechanism for setting directions and strategies and priorities of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS), defines the priority statistical programs and activities of the System for the medium term;

            WHEREAS, the PSDP 2005-2010 aims to address the information requirements of the 2004-2010 MTPDP as well as promotes efficiency of statistical operations through the optimum use of available resources and adoption of cost effective measures;

            WHEREAS, the PSDP 2005-2010 also lays the necessary framework for generating statistics and indicators needed by various stakeholders and data users, both at the national and local levels, for planning, decision-making and policy analysis;

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board spearheaded the formulation of the PSDP 2005-2010 and was approved for adoption under Presidential Proclamation No. 1140 dated September 19, 2006;

WHEREAS, one of the sections of the 2005-2010 PSDP is the Sub-national Statistical System which is comprised of statistical programs and projects at the local level that aims to facilitate the generation of relevant local statistical information that will address the needs of local policy-makers, government executives, and private sector at the subnational level; 

            WHEREAS, the NSCB Regional Division I, the RSCC Secretariat, prepared Region I’s consolidated statistical activities, programs and projects including their indicative budget and was approved through RSCC Resolution No. 5, s. 2005;

WHEREAS, all of Region I’s statistical activities, programs and projects were included in the approved PSDP 2005-210 under the section on Sub-national Statistical Systems;

 WHEREAS, the RSCC, being the highest policy-making and coordinating body on statistical matters in the region, is mandated to coordinate and monitor the implementation and periodic assessment of these statistical activities, programs and projects that are included in the PSDP 2005-2010 under Sub-national Statistical Systems;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to endorse the adoption of the statistical activities, programs and projects under the Sub-national Statistical System of the approved PSDP 2005-2010 to concerned offices in Region I as presented in Annex A hereto attached.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, to enjoin concerned agencies to prioritize these activities, programs and projects during the preparation of their annual budgets;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that these approved statistical activities, programs and projects shall be monitored and evaluated annually by the RSCC thru the NSCB RD I.
