RSCC I Resolution No. 06, s.2006

REQUESTING THE UNICEF TO RECONFIGURE THE DEV INFO SOFTWARE TO ENABLE
THE DISPLAY OF CITY MAPS WITHIN THE PROVINCIAL MAPS

WHEREAS, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) advocates the use of the DEVINFO database system in the monitoring of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs);

WHEREAS, the DEVINFO is a database system that helps organize and present data on social indicators and is a user-friendly software application integrated with Microsoft Office for easy presentation of data in tables, graphs and maps;

WHEREAS, the present configuration of the DEVINFO database system could not display city maps embedded within the provincial map;

WHEREAS, there is a clamor among the cities for the generation of city maps displayed within the provincial map for the purpose of comparing the progression of the cities in a particular province;

WHEREAS, the RSCC is mandated to institute measures to strengthen the statistical capability in the region by resolving problems and issues peculiar to the area within the context of national statistical policies and by setting priority on the statistical activities thereby ensuring the timely production of useful and reliable data for regional/local development planning and decision-making;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to request the UNICEF to reconfigure the DEVINFO software to enable the display of city maps within the provincial map;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the reconfigured DEVINFO software be provided to the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) which, as the central repository of MDG indicators, shall install and use the DEVINFO system.
