The StatWatch is an
info sheet presenting the major and most common social and
economic indicators for the region used by the government and
business planners and decision makers and the general public.
The StatWatch is updated and released periodically or as soon
as the latest data releases become available. This type of
publication provides timely trends of developments.
FactSheet
The FactSheet showcases relevant
data/indicators and brief analyses, statistical concepts, methodologies,
standards and other statistical developments which are not
commonly known or readily available to users in the region.
The FactSheet is disseminated to government and business planners
and researchers to promote their understanding and awareness
of events, etc.
Statistical
Survey Review and Clearance System
The Statistical Survey Review and
Clearance System (SSRCS) is a mechanism institutionalized by
the NSCB which involves the process of evaluating the design
and instruments of statistical surveys or censuses sponsored
and/or to be conducted by government agencies including government
corporations at the national and/or subnational level.
Statistical
Handbook on Women and Men in the Ilocos Region
The
Statistical Handbook on Women and Men in the Ilocos Region
contains
the latest available statistics on women and men in the Ilocos
Region through tables and charts, short explanatory texts,
and brief analyses highlighting the salient features of the
data. A significant source of information for decision-makers,
project planners, implementors and evaluators to guide them
in their advocacy work and in the formulation of plans, programs,
and policies for the advancement of women in the region.

Countryside in Figures: Ilocos Sur
The Countryside in Figures: Pangasinan
A
showcase of social, economic and governance indicators on cities
and municipalities. Cities/municipalities were ranked from
highest to lowest to determine the cities/municipalities with
the best and worst conditions. The rank of the province nationwide/regionwide
was also included for selected indicators. Each chapter contains
a brief sectoral highlight.

Release
Brief articles/data features on
the latest data/indicators, concepts, methodologies and developments
are published in a column or Stat Corner in local dailies to
reach a wider audience and the general public to make them
more informed.
Inventory
of Statistics Available in the Government
The inventory provides a profile
of the statistics being generated/produced by government agencies
and local government units in the region and is also used to
identify data gaps and deficiencies. The accompanying statistical
directory serves as a locator of various statistical personnel/organizations
of government agencies and local government units in the region.
It serves as a useful guide in locating information in the
region to facilitate research, thus, saving on time and resources
in data sourcing.
National Statistics
Month (NSM)
The celebration of the NSM is held
to promote awareness and recognition of the importance of statistics
in development. The NSCB Regional Unit, being the overall coordinator
of the NSM in the region, spearheads the planning, conduct
and monitoring of activities such as workshops, symposia, briefings/conferences
on statistical issues, products and services exhibits, quiz
contests and other similar events. It has become an avenue
for establishing a more dynamic statistical community in the
region with both public and private agencies working together
in the celebration.
Technical
Assistance to Government Agencies and
Local Government Units
Technical assistance covers a wide
range of services from advice on data collection techniques,
data management, analysis and interpretation to review and
sampling design, project proposals and socio-economic profiles.
Thru this service, users will learn how to use available data
and how to use them correctly.
National
Statistical Information Center (NSIC)
The NSIC serves as the one-stop
shop for statistical data and services in the region where
data users can avail of these facilities under one roof.
Knowledge
Center for Women and Children
The establishment
of Knowledge Center for Women and Children aims to improve
access to information when needed, where needed by establishing
a system of data collection, storage, processing and interpretation
for use in decision-making, social mobilization and advocacy.
Managed by the National Statistical Coordination Board Regional
Division I, the Knowledge Center for Women and Children was
established through the joint efforts of the National Economic
and Development Authority, National Statistical Coordination
Board and the Department of Social Welfare and Development
with assistance from the United Nations Children's Fund.
I-stats
It
is an interactive subscription service of the NSCB
for viewing and downloading of data sets. It contains
time series economic and social indicators produced by
the Philippine statistical System. Presently, it consisted
of around 100 datasets covering the following sectors:
economic accounts, population, vital health, nutrition,
social services, education, and public order, safety
and justice, family income and expenditures, prices,
agriculture, agrarian reform, environment and natural
resources, industry, foreign trade and tourism, labor
and employment, transportation, communications, energy
and water resources, public administration, money,
banking and finance, and inter-industry accounts (input-output
tables).

Ref
Is
an online catalogue of library acquisitions. It is
updated monthly with the monthly list library acquisitions
to aid the researcher of the newest available library
acquisitions in the NSIC Library.
Gross
Regional Product Estimates
The
GRDP is an aggregate measure of the goods and services
produced by the regional economy. GRDP
estimates are used as basis by government planners
and decision makers in planning, monitoring
and evaluation
activities with the end goal of introducing plans, programs
and policies that will improve the region’s economy,
and by the private sector for business-related concerns.
Poverty
Mapping
Poverty
mapping is an activity of the NSCB in support of
the government's poverty alleviation program. The activity
produced poverty maps through the integration of data
from various sources and from different disciplines
such as social, economic and environment data. The
maps serve as very useful tools to local government
units and other concerned entities in identifying priority
areas that should benefit from anti-poverty programs
and interventions.
