The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Regional Division I announces the release of the 2011 Regional and Provincial/Cities MDG (Millennium Development Goal) Watch for the Ilocos Region.
The MDG Watch contains the latest data on the MDG indicators for the eight MDG goals, namely: (1) Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; (2) Achieve universal primary education; (3) Promote gender equality and empower women; (4) Reduce child mortality; (5) Improve maternal health; (6) Combat HIV/Aids, malaria and other diseases; (7) Ensure environmental sustainability; and (8) Develop a global partnership for development. It also includes the probability of attaining the MDG target by 2015 based on the comparison of actual (from baseline to latest data) and required (from baseline to target year) rate of progress.
The Regional and Provincial MDG Watch are now available at the National Statistics Information Center (NSIC) Region I Branch in San Fernando City, La Union. They can also be accessed at http://www.nscb.gov.ph/ru1/MDG-Regional.html and http://www.nscb.gov.ph/ru1/MDG-Provincial.html, respectively.
