NSCB RD1 Releases Factsheet on Updates on Women and Men in Ilocos Region

In support to the celebration of the Women’s Month, with this year’s theme: “Women Weathering Climate Change: Governance and Accountability Everyone’s Concern”, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Regional Division (RD) I releases a factsheet featuring the latest statistical updates on women and men in the Ilocos Region.The factsheet aims to provide relevant information to planners, researchers and other data users for gender and development (GAD) planning, programming, policy setting and advocacy.


Families in the Bottom 30 Percent Income Group In Region I Earned 67 Thousand Pesos in 2009
(Posted February 27, 2012)

Results of the 2009 Family Income and Expenditures Survey (FIES) of the National Statistics Office revealed that families in Region I earned P186,000 annually, on the average, in 2009, registering an average annual increase of 10.3 percent from 2006. Families belonging to the bottom 30 percent income group had an average income of P67,000 annually or P5,600 monthly in 2009. On the other hand, families in the upper 70 percent income group had an average income of P237,000 annually or P19,800 monthly during the same year.

TOP CITIES: THE BIAS TOWARDS METRO MANILA PERSISTS! (Posted May 14, 2012)

In 2009, Quezon City, Makati, Manila, Pasig, and Davao City had the highest total income among the cities. Averaged over the three-year period from 2007-2009, the top income earners were the same five cities.

On the other hand, the five cities with the smallest income for 2009 were El Salvador City (Region X), Bayawan City (Region VII), Bogo City (Region VII), Tandag City (CARAGA), and Lamitan City (ARMM).
