APPROVING AND DISSEMINATING AS OFFICIAL POVERTY STATISTICS THE NEW SERIES ON POVERTY THRESHOLDS AND INCIDENCES BASED ON THE 1991 FIES

WHEREAS, the NSCB created the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Income Statistics (formerly TWG on Poverty Determination) under the Inter-Agency Committee on Labor, Income and Productivity Statistics to estimate poverty thresholds and incidences;

WHEREAS, the NSCB Executive Board has approved the new methodology developed by the TWG in the estimation of poverty thresholds;

WHEREAS, the NSO has come up with the final results of the 1991 Family Income and Expenditures Survey (FIES) which serve as the basis for the estimation of final poverty thresholds and incidences;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the new series on poverty thresholds and incidences based on the final results of the 1991 FIES be approved and disseminated as official poverty statistics for 1991.
