In accomplishing Form 1 (Agency Statistical Calendar) and Form 2 (Supplemental Agency Statistical Calendar), please provide all basic information such as name of agency, name of head of agency, and office address of the agency.   Please supply the needed information on the focal person for data dissemination of your agency.  This is necessary in updating the PSS directory of statistical services.

I. GUIDELINES FOR FORM 1:

1.  Column 4 (Title of Statistical Activity) is divided into 2 parts - Part I and II.  List all programmed statistical activities of the agency classified as either Current/Regular or Proposed/Developmental.

Part I Current/Regular Activities – pertains to existing and regular statistical activities that are undertaken by the agency.

These include (a) data production/improvement activities which refer to the generation of statistics/data thru surveys, administrative-based statistics and derived statistics as well as the maintenance of databases and activities aimed at improving existing data production activities;  (b) institution building activities are aimed at building the statistical capability of the agency  which may include training of statistical personnel, conferences, etc.; (c) statistical research and development refers to activities that are aimed towards the improvement or updating of methodologies for production of quality statistics, development of systems or procedures for generating statistics, development of indicators for planning, monitoring and evaluation, research studies that are responsive to current/emerging concerns in the statistical system and other areas, and innovations in data collection, processing, analysis and dissemination as a result of advancements in information and communication technologies;  and (d) data dissemination activities refer to activities designed to provide information to data users and other stakeholders in the form of publications, fora, web dissemination, and other similar activities.

Part II Proposed/Developmental Activities – pertains to new or developmental statistical activities or projects to be implemented by the agency in 2003.

2. In Column 5 (Objective of the Activity), provide the specific objective/s of the activities listed in column 1.

3. In Column 6, list all relevant major outputs of the activity to be generated in 2003 such as reports, data to be generated, training, fora, etc.

4. In Column 7, please provide information on who to contact if there are inquiries regarding the listed activities.

5. In Column 8, please provide any additional relevant information.

II.  GUIDELINES FOR FORM 2:

Form 2 is a supplementary form that aims to gather detailed information on the data that will be generated by the agency given the statistical activities cited in Form 1.

1. In Column 1, please list all relevant statistical activities classified as either Current/Regular Activities or Proposed/Developmental Activities listed under Column 4 of Form 1.  Please see Form 1 guidelines for the scope and coverage of the activities.  If possible, give the title of the activity.

2. In Column 2, please indicate the frequency of conduct of the corresponding statistical activity in Column 1.

3. List all relevant data items generated or to be generated in Column 3.

4. Provide the reference period of the data generated or to be generated in Column 4.

5. List in Column 5 all levels of disaggregation of the data/information generated, e.g., by region, by sex, etc.

6. In Column 6, indicate the expected (if data has not been released yet) and/or actual date of release of the data, e.g., exact date (April 1, 2003), or not later than April 1, 2003.

7. Provide information on the mode of data dissemination undertaken in Column 7, e.g., web, publication, etc.

8. In Column 8 – please provide additional information that may be helpful in the use of the calendar.
