1.2 Coordinated Portfolio Investments Survey To get comprehensive information, with geographical detail, on the stock of cross-border equities and long- and short-term bonds and notes for use in the compilation or improvement of international investment position (IIP) statistics on portfolio investment assets; and

Annual data and report - do - The results of the survey are submitted to the IMF for assessment and consolidation with reports of other countries.
  To exchange the bilateral data with other countries. By exchanging comparable data, participating countries should be able to improve their estimates of nonresident holdings of their portfolio investment liabilities as well as associated capital flows and investment income data
