Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI) ![]()
The QEI is a set of indices on production, gross revenue, employment, and compensation in the various economic activities of the country.
The indices, with 1978 as base year, are estimated using data from quarterly surveys and administrative reports of regulatory agencies in the country.
These include agriculture, fishery and forestry, mining and quarrying, manufacturing, construction, electricity and water, trade, transport and communication, finance and real estate, and private services.
The indices can be used as deflators to express a current value in real terms, as bases for wage formulation and for forecasting and projections.
