One Barangay Created in the First Quarter of 2011

NSCB Releases the First Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP)
One barangay was created and added in the Philippine Standard Geographic Code (PSGC) masterlist during the period January to March 2011. Thus, the number of barangays increased, from 42,025 as of December 31, 2010 to 42,026 as of March 31, 2011.

Barangay Pangaylan-IP (PSGC-160210012) is now included in the Municipality of Santiago in the province of Agusan del Norte, Caraga pursuant to Provincial Ordinance No. 266-2010187 and which was ratified through a plebiscite conducted by the COMELEC on March 5, 2011. 

With this update, the latest number of regions, provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays in the country as of March 31, 2011 is as follows:
