Scientific Career System for Statisticians (SCSS) now in place
(Posted 25 April 2008)

As one of the priority activities identified in the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2005-2010, the Scientific Career System for Statisticians (SCSS) is now in place as announced by the Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC), the Secretariat of the SCSS.  Its adoption and guidelines were approved through the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Resolution No. 12, Series of 2006 (http://www.nscb.gov.ph/resolutions/2006/12.asp).  The SCSS is a scientific system of recruitment, career progression, recognition and reward of statisticians in the public service. The system is meant to encourage and provide incentives to statisticians who would like to devote their time and efforts in the conduct of statistical research.  This is also to encourage excellence and to promote a research culture among government statistical personnel.

For those interested, below are the relevant documents about the SCSS:

For more information and other inquiries, please contact the SCSS Secretariat, Ms. Eleanore V. Ramos of the Statistical Research and Training Center (SRTC) at telephone number 426-0620 or email evramos@srtc.gov.ph
