In the province of Nueva Ecija, one barangay was transferred from a city to a municipality in the second quarter of 2008. Barangay Palale was transferred from the territorial jurisdiction of Palayan City to the municipality of General Tinio pursuant to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 134-s-2007 dated October 1, 2007 and COMELEC Memorandum dated April 29, 2008. Thus, the number of barangays in the municipality of Gen. Tinio increased from 12 to 13 barangays, while that of Palayan City, decreased from 20 to 19 barangays as of June 30, 2008.

With this update, the number of regions, provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays as of June 30, 2008 remains the same as of March 31, 2008:
