As part of its marketing strategy to reach out to a wider spectrum of stakeholders, selected publications of the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) can now be purchased at the National Book Store (NBS), the country’s biggest bookstore chain.

These publications include the latest editions of the Philippine Statistical Yearbook (PSY), The Regional Social and Economic Trends (RSET) and the Countryside in Figures (CIF).

The PSY is an annual publication which presents in time-series, historical information about the country’s macro and micro environment and selected countries of the world, produced by various government agencies, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and some private institutions for planners, decision-makers, researchers and other users to guide them in the formulation of plans, programs and policies and analytical studies.

The RSET presents major social economic developments at the regional and sub-regional levels in data series with textual analysis and graphical illustration added to highlight significant trends designed to address the need of local government planners and decision makers in the exercise of their devolved functions and to provide local business enterpreneurs and other investors with data useful in making marketing plans, decisions and strategies.

The CIF contains general information and statistical indicators on governance, family income and expenditures, labor and employment, prices, agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, tourism, public order, safety and justice of the seventy eight provinces and selected cities nationwide. The provinces/cities have been ranked according to the said indicators.

These NSCB publications are now available for sale at the National Book Store branches in the following areas: Greenbelt and Glorietta in Makati City; the Podium, EDSA Shangrila Mall, Robinson’s Galleria, SM Megamall in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City; SM North, NBS Katipunan, NBS Cubao, and NBS Quezon Avenue in Quezon City; and in SM Manila.

The PSY, RSET and CIF serve as integrating instruments for the wealth of data available in the country. All these publications and other NSCB products are also currently available for sale at the National Statistical Information Center (NSIC), G/F Midland Buendia Bldg., 403 Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City. In compliance with e-governance guidelines, the NSCB accepts business transactions with publication brokers and vendors who are interested in selling NSCB publications.
