Steering Committee and Sub-Committees
for the 10th NCS

An inter-agency Steering Committee has been created to provide overall direction and guidance in the preparations for the 10th NCS. Various inter-agency Sub-Committees have also been created to perform specific tasks, as follows:

  1. Sub-Committee on Scientific Program to determine the sessions to be organized, prepare the scientific program, and design a systematic procedure of conducting the sessions;

  2. Sub-Committee on Finance and Arrangements to raise funds for the event, handle arrangements for the venue, food and registration of participants, and provide general services for the convention;

  3. Sub-Committee on Publicity and Advocacy to recommend publicity activities for the NCS; and

  4. Sub-Committees for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to identify statistical issues that could serve as bases for priority topics at the subnational level, identify and recommend paper writers and discussants, and promote awareness and appreciation for the NCS.

A group of session organizers from the government, private sector and the academe has been formed to identify prospective paper writers, review the abstracts, identify discussants and serve as moderator for the sessions. With the NSCB spearheading the conduct of the 10th NCS, various working groups have been created at the NSCB to perform specific tasks and to provide support to the different Sub-Committees and the Steering Committee.
