Did you know that …
ARMM posted the highest percentage increase of registered voters in 2007?

Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) showed the highest increase of Registered Voters for the May 14, 2007 National and Local Elections at 10.0% compared to the 2004 registered voters in the Philippines. All regions reflected increases in the number of registered voters in the 2007 Elections with Region XII  (SOCCSKSARGEN) and Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) coming up in second and third spots with an increased of 8.0% and 7.6%, respectively. On the other hand, the number of registered voters for the 2007 National and Local Elections in the National Capital Region (NCR) declined by 4.0%.

Meanwhile, the country’s voting population increased from 43.5 M in 2004 to 45.0 M in 2007, up by 1.507 M voters or 3.5%. Luzon increased by 0.534 M or 2.2%, Visayas by 0.352 M or 3.9% and Mindanao by 0.621 M or 6.2%. The biggest absolute increase came from Region IV-A (CALABARZON), 0.218 M, followed by Region VII (Central Visayas), 0.165 M and Region III (Central Luzon), 0.150 M.

By main island group, Luzon reported the highest share of registered voters at 25.2 M or 55.9%, followed by Mindanao at 10.6 M or 23.4% and Visayas at 9.3 M or 20.7% as of April 20, 2007 for the May 14, 2007 National and Local Elections.

The three regions that showed the biggest shares of registered voters for the 2007 Elections are as follows: Region IV-A with 12.8% followed by National Capital Region (NCR) with 12.6%, and Region III with 11.3%. Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) had the lowest number of registered voters with 1.8% (see chart).
