Almost half of the foreign travellers
who visited Davao City came from East Asia

In 2002, there were 49,341 foreign travelers who visited Davao City. 22,647 or 45.9 percent of them came from East Asia, which comprised of China, Hongkong, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

Following East Asia with the highest number of visitors in Davao City were North America and Europe, with 11,392 (23.1%) and 2,846 (5.8%), respectively.

The number of visitors from ASEAN countries were 2,215 (4.5%). This is followed by Oceania, Middle East, and South Asia with 1,301(2.6%), 459(0.9%), and 187(0.4%) total visitors, respectively.

Unspecified residence comprised the 16.8 percent of the total foreign travelers.
