ORGANIZATION & FINANCING

The Government of the Philippines through the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), will host the Third Global Forum on Gender Statistics and the IAEG-GS Meeting to be held in Manila on October 2010 as part of the celebration of the 21st National Statistics Month (NSM). This will be done in collaboration with the UNSD, UNFPA and the World Bank.

Technical and logistical support shall be requested from local institutions such as NEDA, the national focal point of the MDGs in the Philippines, the Philippines’ NSO as the major source of census and survey data in the Philippines, and the PCW, major stakeholder of gender statistics.

The Philippine Government through the International Commitment Fund (ICF) managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs will provide for direct logistics expenses, including the meeting venue and materials.

The collaborating agencies, UNSD, UNFPA and WB, have limited funds to support representatives. They will be in contact with the participating agencies if funding is available.

A Local Organizing Committee (LOC), consisting of the following :

Vice-Chair: National Statistics Office (NSO)
Members: Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)
                Pilippine Commission on Women (PCW)
                National Economic and Development Agency (NEDA)
                United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

was organized to oversee the planning and logistics preparation for the conduct of the forum.

The NSCB Technical Staff shall serve as Local Secretariat of the forum.
