Objectives

The meeting is envisioned to promote and coordinate international cooperation in the area of health statistics by focusing on disability measures suitable for censuses and national surveys. The Group is committed to work towards the improvement of disability statistics for the equalization of opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The 8th meeting will tackle further improvement activities done on both the short set of questions for disability statistics (for censuses) and the extended sets (for surveys) developed by the Group.  This will be done in coordination with the Working Group Secretariat and the National Center for Health Statistics, the USA’s principal health statistics agency.
