Guidelines for Economy Presentation

  1. All presenters are requested to submit their materials of no more than 2MB in size, in electronic form, preferably in MS Word (for paper) and MS PowerPoint (for presentation) by 22 September 2008.

  2. All participating APEC economies are requested to fill up the Assessment Form to be submitted on or before September 26, 2008.  The assessment will serve as inputs to the discussions in Session VIII – Panel Discussions on APEC Recommendations.

  3. Please send all submissions at e-mail address lr.ragos@nscb.gov.ph (cc: vr.ilarina@nscb.gov.ph) .

  4. All materials will be made available to the public. If there are concerns related to this, please inform the organizers before the submission of materials.

  5. Each identified presenter will be given 15 minutes to deliver the paper presentation, which should follow the given outline, whenever appropriate:

I. Introduction
II. Classifications Used

a. Classifications used
b. Coverage of emerging services
c. Deviations or exceptions

III. Data Sources and Data Compilation

    a. Main sources of data (including its features, assumptions and limitations)
    b. Methodology (for benchmark and other estimates) used in compilation
        including treatments for missing or non-response
    c. Numerical example
    d. Transactions included and excluded
    e. International data networking / sharing

IV. Organizational and Data Processing

a. Collaboration with other institutions / division of labor / legal structure
b. Number of staff
c. Use of technology in data processing and production
d. Institution responsible for the official publication of the data

V. Data Availability

a. Detail and length of time series (including frequency of release)
b. Timeliness / Time-lag
c. Revision Policy
d. Issues of confidentiality

VI. Issues and Problems / Areas for Improvement

a. Current priorities
b. Future plans
