As part of the observance of the 20th National Statistics Month (NSM), the National Statistical Coordination  Board (NSCB) announces the winners of the 1st NSM Media Awards and the 19th NSM Best Activity and  Best Region.

1st NSM Media Awards

Winner:  Mr. Roel L. Landingin of Newsbreak Magazine

Mr. Landingin was awarded for his article "The Hidden Job Crisis" published in the May-July 2009 issue of the Newsbreak Magazine. He received a Plaque of Recognition and a cash prize of P20,000.

The NSM Awards System has been instituted to give recognition to the outstanding participation in the NSM celebration. It is also a means of providing incentive to participating individuals and agencies in the observance of NSM and a way of encouraging wider participation in the NSM celebration. At the same time, it promotes the conduct of activities that further the objectives and spirit of this annual statistical event.

The awarding rites was held on October 1, 2009 during the opening ceremonies of the 20th NSM at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
