Functions
  1. To review, assess and evaluate the survey designs of censuses and sample surveys proposed and/or conducted by the government agencies;
  2. To provide expert advice in the development, revision, preparation and pre- and post-evaluation of survey designs for government censuses and surveys with the end in view of making such designs more responsive to the data needs of planning and policy formulation and ensuring that the resulting data are useful, reliable and accurate; and
  3. To study and recommend ways and measures for attaining maximum efficiency and economy in survey operations of government agencies.
Major Accomplishments in 2007
  1. Technical inputs on the sampling design of the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) and 2006 Input-Output Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (IOSPBI)
Outputs for 2008
  1. Recommendations on improvements in the design of household, agricultural and establishment surveys
  2. Assessment of soundness of expanding the coverage of the review system to include non-statistical data collection activities, such as on impact assessment of development projects and on inventories of skills/researches/etc., which can be a rich source of inputs for the generation of official statistics
  3. Review and recommendations on the linkages and relationships of the different surveys.
