1. To determine the needs and uses for price statistics and prepare an order of priority for the compilation of the more important and/or new series;
2. To assess and evaluate existing price statistics as to their quality, usefulness and timeliness and determine areas of duplication, as well as gaps;
3. To study present techniques and methodology employed in the production of price statistics and recommend measures to obtain more accurate and meaningful price data;
4. To study new methodologies and techniques and evaluate their relevance and usefulness for the Philippine economy;
5. To develop an efficient workable scheme for the allocation of agency responsibilities in the production of general price statistics.

1. Technical inputs provided on derivation of weights based on the 2000 I-O, on  identification of market basket and on  documentation report of the 2000-Based General Retail Price Index (GRPI)
2. Technical inputs provided on derivation of weights of the 2000-Based Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for Construction Materials based on the projects submitted by DPWH, NHA and SHDA reviewed
3. Recommendations on items for inclusion in the market basket of the 2000-Based WPI for Construction Materials
4. Inputs provided on documentation report on derivation of weights and market basket of the 2000-Based WPI for Construction Materials
5. Organized three presentations of the CPI Bottom 30% Income Households to the (a) Technical Committee on Poverty Statistics, (b) UP School of Economics and (c) UP School of Statistics
6. Inputs on the documentation of comments, inquiries and recommendations on the CPI Bottom 30% Income Households submitted to NSO for appropriate action
7. Conducted Two (2) workshops for the development of chain index
8. Conducted Consultative Forum on Real Estate Price Index (REPI) and reviewed recommendations for improving the REPI.
9. Technical inputs on the project proposal for the development of methodology for the computation of real estate price index
10. Basic Information on the different price indices presented in the BSP Users’ Forum conducted in Legazpi City and Dumaguete City
11. Recommendations of list of commodities for inclusion in the computation of core inflation reviewed.
