Conducts Workshop on Review and Analysis
The workshop was designed to refresh Regional Operations Centers (ROCs) and Provincial Operations Centers (POCs) personnel’s understanding and appreciation of BAS Livestock and Poultry Data System as well as to enhance their technical capabilities on the application of concepts and methods for the delivery of quality statistical products and services. Participants comprised of Regional and Provincial Agricultural Statistics Officers coming from the three Visayas regions. Ms. Nenita T. Yanson and Ms. Mary Ann A. Alcachupas gave presentations on Revisiting BAS Livestock and Poultry Data System, Supply-Disposition for Livestock and Chicken, and Total Slaughter versus Consumption and Other Uses and Concept of Meat Sufficiency before the workshop proper. Workshop mechanics included the review and validation of provincial production with application of Supply-Disposition (S-D) Framework and analysis of meat production versus consumption and other uses of meat. Livestock includes farm animals such as swine, carabao, cattle and goat while poultry refers to chicken, chicken egg, duck and duck egg.
