Agriculture and Fishery

              City of Tagum is primarily an agricultural-based city with 68 percent of the total land area devoted for agricultural use. Aside from the favorable climatic conditions for agriculture, the high fertility of the soil makes it suitable for production of various crops. Crops grown in Tagum are banana (cavendish and table), coconut, rice, corn, durian, mango, papaya, pomelo, vegetables, and calamansi. Tagum's livestock and poultry includes cattle, carabao, swine, goat and ducks. 
 
   
   
             The coastal wetlands of the city are dominated by mangrove trees and nipa palm particularly in tidal creeks and rivers and nearshore waters. Aquamarine products in the city are: milkfish, prawns and shrimps, crabs, shellfish, marine fin fishes, and gleener's catch.
